Temple Photos at Maitland’s Congregation Ohev Shalom
Andrew’s Bar Mitzvah ceremony and party were supposed to be at the end of March. The Orange County Mayor enacted a stay-at-home-order just two days before the big event, so we regrettably had to postpone photos at the temple, Congregation Ohev Shalom, until it was safer to do so.
Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait too long! We met at the temple yesterday for some family photos and photos with the Torah. I typically like to photograph any family combinations on or in front of the bimah, then we simulate the presentation of the tallit and move forward from there.
Andrew’s tallit was so gorgeous! It was expertly hand woven and was just absolutely stunning. I really loved the color combination as well.
Once he had his tallit on, we had the other men in our group put their tallits on and moved forward with pictures holding the Torah and reading from the Torah.
We had unexpectedly beautiful cool weather for May in Central Florida, so we were anxious to get outside for some more casual family photos.
I had a great time with Andrew and his family. It was so nice to be back to work after 44 DAYS of not working. I don’t think I’ve ever gone that long without a photo shoot since going full-time with photography 6 years ago! But I’m glad to be back and am looking forward to Andrew’s party later this year!
